Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is the ML B45 and what equipment does it fit?
A: The ML B45 is a load roller assembly designed for manual pallet jacks, specifically compatible with Mighty Lift models 5500, ML55, ML55II, and ML55L. It features a heavy-duty polyurethane tread bonded to a steel hub with sealed ball bearings.
Q: What are the dimensions and material specifications of the ML B45?
A: The ML B45 has a heavy-duty polyurethane tread and steel hub. The polyurethane is industrial-grade and non-marking. The wheel assembly includes two sealed 6204-2RS ball bearings and features a beveled edge design to reduce coning and distribute wear evenly.
Q: Is the ML B45 suitable for outdoor use?
A: Yes. The ML B45 is designed for both indoor and outdoor use. The non-marking polyurethane tread provides traction on various floor surfaces. However, polyurethane wheels are not recommended for cold storage environments, as freezing temperatures will cause the material to harden, reducing grip and increasing wear rates.
Q: What are the cross-reference part numbers for the ML B45?
A: The ML B45 has the following cross-references: B45, MLB45, and 150-1016. These part numbers reference the same load roller assembly and can be used interchangeably for ordering purposes.
Q: How durable is the ML B45 polyurethane tread?
A: The high-grade polyurethane on the ML B45 is long-lasting and designed to withstand demanding material handling use. Actual lifespan depends on load capacity, floor conditions, and usage frequency. Wheels operating at rated capacity on smooth concrete will outlast those used on rough or outdoor surfaces where abrasion accelerates tread wear.
Q: Will the ML B45 leave marks on clean floors?
A: No. The ML B45 is a non-marking wheel. The industrial-grade polyurethane tread will not leave black marks or residue on clean floors, making it suitable for food, pharmaceutical, and retail environments where floor appearance is important.
Q: How should the ML B45 be stored when not in use?
A: Store the ML B45 in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Avoid stacking heavy items on the wheel assembly. Periodic inspection of the bearings and polyurethane tread for wear or damage is recommended to ensure optimal performance.
